Owner, No Place Like Home Pet Sitting

My name is Michelle Quessenberry. I was born in Ohio, and raised in Seminole, Florida. I have been an animal lover my entire life. My passion for animals developed at a very young age while watching my parents breed, raise, train, and show Dobermans. I started interning at animal hospitals right out of high school, and even worked as a kennel tech at several animal hospitals.

I was a stay at home mom for 10 years and have always been either a dog or a cat owner. I was introduced to the world of professional pet sitting years ago when I began hiring people to take care of my own pets when I traveled. Prior to this, I had known kennels to be the only option. I absolutely LOVED the idea of having them stay in the comfort of their own home while we traveled.

Then, in May 2013, I went after a dream of mine… I became a small business owner and established No Place Like Home Pet Sitting, LLC – and provide superb service for pet owners living in the FishHawk Ranch and surrounding communities of Lithia, FL.

I currently have 1 dog and 1 cat; a 9 year old Maltipoo, named Biscuit, who we adopted from a local family who could no longer care for him, and a kitten named Ruby, that I quickly adopted as a foster from a local rescue. My Golden Retriever, Bella, recently crossed the rainbow bridge on April 30, 2020. I picked her out of a litter of puppies and we were blessed with 13 1/2 amazing years with her.

I lived in the wonderful community of FishHawk Ranch in Lithia, FL for 11 years and recently moved just outside of the community and commute back and forth about 7-10 minutes each way. I have two beautiful children, a loving, supportive husband, and have a well-established reputation in the community.

I have 10 years of volunteer experience with various Hillsborough County PTA/PTSA positions within the area schools, including FishHawk Creek Elementary, Bevis Elementary, and Randall Middle. I also served as the Ambassador for the Neighborhood Watch Program within my community village. Retiring recently from all the school volunteering positions has allowed for me to be more actively involved in dog rescue – I LOVE to foster, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs, and kittens as much as possible. Nothing is more rewarding that giving an abandoned or abused animal a second chance.

My name is Alexa Delong. I was born in New Jersey but have lived in Florida since I was little. I’ve always had dogs I was able to come home to. I have a pit bull mastiff mix; his name is Dexter. My other dog is a German Shepard greyhound mix; her name is Molly. My love for animals continues to grow every day.

I knew I wanted to be around animals as much as possible. I started as a kennel technician a Bloomingdale animal hospital in 2016. By 2020 I was kennel manager at Valrico animal clinic. Although I got to meet and understand the animals I cared for during that time, I could always tell I wasn’t able to see their full personalities because of the unfamiliar environment they were in. That’s when I realized how awesome it would be to join the No Place Like home Pet Sitting team. It’s amazing to see how that one factor has a huge impact on how the animal acts. I am excited to help keep your pets in a comfortable environment and give them the care they need!

I’m Maddy and it’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m an animal lover and I’m sure you are too. My experience with taking care of animals comes from volunteer work and growing up with pets of my own. I love getting to know all the pets I meet. Their different personalities are all so interesting to learn.
